What is Slopo®?
Slop oil and oily wastewater are unavoidable by-products of tank cleaning, oil processing, and other refinery or terminal operations. Traditionally, these waste streams are expensive to handle, often requiring transport off-site for disposal or incineration.
Oreco’s Slopo® system offers an automated, on-site solution for slop oil recovery and treatment. Designed to reduce waste and maximize oil recovery, Slopo separates the waste stream into oil, water, and solids—minimizing disposal volumes and generating usable product.
Slopo is a compact, modular system that can be integrated with tank cleaning systems like Blabo® or MoClean®, or operated as a standalone unit.
How Slopo® Works
Slopo is built on Oreco’s decades of experience in oil recovery and waste minimization. The system is skid-mounted and containerized for easy transport and deployment.

Using a three-phase decanter or similar technology, Slobo separates the input into:
- Recovered Oil – returned to the process or sold.
- Water – sent for treatment or disposal.
- Solids – minimized for reduced waste handling.
The system is designed for continuous operation and can be monitored and controlled automatically.
